Proverbs 31:13 She seeks wool, and flax, and works willingly with her hands (NKJ)
I use Linen and 100% wool fabric to create my work. I cut the fabric into 18” length strips that range from 3/32” to 1” wide. By using a crochet style hook with a handle, I pull the fabric through the pattern drawn onto the linen. 85% of my work is made from recycled wool garments. I have created still lives as well as realistic animals, but there is just something about Geometrical and Minimalist Abstracts- It is about the shapes, but at times, a pattern feels too stiff, so I start looking at the textures and colors of the wool and they guide me. When I hook an area, I will sometimes stray from the actual pattern I have drawn and the piece starts to develop its own personality. This results into some of my best work.
